Wash the dirt off a PIE pumpkin. Gut the pumpkin with your Cook's Spoon and slice it about 1/4" thick with your Serrated Slicing Knife, leaving the skin on, and throw the slices in a pan of icewater.

Mix up a couple eggs, 3 or 4 Tablespoons of sugar and enough flour to make it thicker than pancake batter. Spice the batter to taste with Cinnamon, nutmeg and clove if you like clove.

Heat up the oil in the fryer, and when it's ready, ADD a teaspoon of baking powder add just enough soda water to the batter so it hangs onto the slices but doesn't build. If you need to test the batter, drop a pea size lump into the hot oil and see how it works.

Take the slices out of the icewater and shake 'em free of the water, or lay 'em on a towel to get the water off. Dredge the slice through the batter, and drop into the hot oil to fry, just like you'd do french fries. You can leave some slices sit in the batter while others fry up.

Pull out of the oil when cooked and drain on paper towels. If you haven't got a large fryer you can keep them hot on a plate in the oven till they are all cooked.
