Pot Holder with blue poly/cotton twill top and white quilted bottom. The large surface makes a great pot holder for large or small pans - ideal for stoneware!
The pot holder is blue, with a white logo reading "Rada Cutlery, A Cut Above The Rest" and a knife image.
APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS: 12" diameter
BOURBON CAKE RECIPE

8" square pan or 2 qt. baking dish
350° for 40 minutes
Pour boiling water over:
- 1½ Cup golden raisins; set aside to plump
Coarsely chop 1 Cup Pecans or Walnuts with the Serrated Food Chopper
Cream together:
- 1 stick oleo
- 1 cup sugar
- Add:
- 1 egg
Sift together:
- 1½ cup flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- ½ tsp. salt
- ½ tsp. allspice
- ½ tsp. nutmeg
- ½ tsp. cloves
Drain raisins, save ½ cup liquid.
Dredge raisins in flour mixture.
Add flour alternately with ½ cup liquid,
Beginning and ending with flour.
Stir in 3 Tbsp. bourbon and chopped nuts.
Pour into greased pan and bake 40 minutes at 350°.
Icing:
- Mix 3 cups sifted 10X sugar with
3 Tbsp. bourbon and
½ Cup softened oleo, until smooth.
This sinfully delicious and oh, so, sweet smelling recipe was given to me by a Cajun neighbor.
I don?t remember her name, but I?ll never forget her bourbon cake recipe.
I sent this cake to my sister in Texas for Christmas, the icing packed separately.
She said:
?The spice cake was delicious, but the icing had spoiled so I threw it out!?
She mistook that pungent bourbon odor for fermentation!
P.S. The alcohol evaporates from the cake as it bakes, but the icing is potent.
